Heavens Wings Poem by William E. Dickinson

Heavens Wings

The morning dew was rising
As sun so bright and warm
Settled on the mind as peace
God let his creatures swarm

So quiet was the air-so light
My breath could hardly move
Yet-movement of a humming bird
So swiftly and so smooth

Green his coat-iridescent, bright
His morning canvass of honeysuckle-face
Transcending mind and space
In quickness towards my face

Inthralled above mere mortal
His beauty alive and clean
Transporting air and emotion
A picture beyond mans scene

Tranquility is his homeland
No guile or passion in his wings
Taking man beyond his realm
Natures act on 'Heavens Wings'
