Her Beautiful Lies Poem by Swagat Bhattacharjee

Her Beautiful Lies

Life turns,
more often than not like a coin
that's tossed.
Who has ever heard the screams of a boiling heart
or seen the plight of a hanging fate?

Indecisions and fears press against my bones
like pins through the cheek.
When faith is no more a friend and
the lie is the truth the ears crave,
I let it in and let it rust.
I take it all in,
one lie at a time...
one pin at a time...

And do this again until you see
how this clumsy boy you know is
helplessly blinded by his love in you,
by his love for your love and he thrives by it.
I believe in all your stories.
I believe in all your lies.

There's innocence in your ignorance I see,
and solace in this divide.
There's peace in your silence,
and ecstasy in your pride
for this is how I know you, my love...
this is how I love.
