Her Choice Poem by Michelle Cook

Her Choice

it's happening again
emotions are flowing
from deep within
no one to turn to
she has no friends
it's not her fault
she doesn't fit in
as for her home
that's where it begins
starves for perfection
just wants to be thin
she puts on a smile
and tries to pretend
but she wants to give up
she wants to give in
secretly wishing
awaiting the end
refusing to break
refusing to bend
she puts down the knife
and picks up a pen
