Her Favorite Place Poem by Suzie Bakr

Her Favorite Place

She grew up there
Died a few times and was reborn there
She lays on the floor and looks up to the ceiling
Not knowing that these walls hold on to her deepest secrets
They heard her voiceless suicidal thoughts
They were watching when her defenceless tears used to fall
They felt it when her body repeatidly hit the floor
It was here where she felt her first broken heart
It was here where she used to ache in the dark
It was here where she first fell in love
It was here where her world started to break apart
Even though her worst memories are within these 4 walls
They also hold on to the happiness of her soul
Between the hateful argument and loving words
The poetry writting and the singing birds

This favorite place, Her, Me
My bedroom, will forever be my sanctuary
