Her Little Guy Poem by michael spangenberg

Her Little Guy

Swimming between man-eating sharks, laughing hyenas
Ruthless rattlesnakes and other somewhat unpleasant people
All day long I dream about them, it's such a relief

To get to know someone like Madame Sacrebleu
Unglamorous plain Jane, sharp-tongued and tough as nails
Born in Marseille - even drunk like a skunk, brutally honest.

Ma'am Sacrebleu's unselfish as much as she's short
Two cats she had, noticed little Red fell in love with me
Gracious goodness - I loved that cat like crazy too.

So much she loved her little guy that she graciously
Teary-eyes gave the once abandoned cat to me, saying:
He's entitled to choose his own life-long companion.

And that was that - I love my little Red dearly
As much as I enjoy my neighbor, Ma'am Sacrebleu, but
Still dislike my unpleasant friends - swimming around me.
