Her Remniscences Poem by AMRITA MALLIK

Her Remniscences

Still searching in each face around me for you,
am all worn out but in vain
Looking upon for even the faintest flicker of you,
am forlorn on a murk lane.

Hard to trace in the crowd,
And truly in love am abound;
As if that's not all,
I ache for something more,
to end my my list of all,
I yearn to yank back:
the sinking sand in the hourglass,
reset it on the veteran rack.

U, the mistress of my bygone days
U, shone bright in my starlit night.
But only in nostalgic episodes:
Now it fixes me in its daze.
