Here And Now Poem by Mark Hopwood

Here And Now

I opened my eyes and I was awake
Stranded and paralysed
Watching the daybreak,
As the energy of a new day
Glows so bright and burns away
I sit still on the edge of the world
Waiting for the day to become unfurled.

There's a world outside of this place
I see it all around me
And feel it on my face,
My energy ignites, then fades away
Just like the ending of another day
And I still sit on the edge of this haze
Hoping that tomorrow will lose its daze.

I opened my eyes and I was awake
Wide eyed and hopeful
Watching the daybreak.
