Here With You Poem by Andrus Cassian

Here With You

What are the ways I can say
I need you, I need you
at the end of everyday, my smile reigns all because of you
just for you
You are radiant, extraordinary
a shining shooting star but what burns me out
you don't even know my name
Our interactions, measured in minutes
before our ways we go separately
and I'm without your gaze till the next day
Now I'm conflicted through the week, repeating a routine
to happen to pass by and catch a glimpse of you
as I idly trace this pencil on this paper
failing to pay attention in this class by watching this hourglass
I've been wanting to get this out to you somehow
but my fear makes me choke on the words I've prepared
would I trade moments for the world with you
let me say it this way:
tomorrow can wait because I enjoy looking in the eyes of
an atmosphere of beauty
I just want it to be true...to be..
me and you
but I know, I know; you don't have to tell me
I'm only asleep and dreaming...
