Hero - Poem by Mehreen Mujeeb
Looking down at possibilities
From the edge of a terrace
Lost in balance and decision.
Moments ago the wind was
Breathing in different dimensions
I could see that the trees were moved
And they moved in different directions.
I looked at the cheese ball
Pinned to the spray painted sky
It showed me light i used to see;
A light I now refuse to believe.
So many constellations in my mind
So little I see in the sky
I don't want to use a telescope
I want to use my eyes.
Standing on the edge
The wind carried my tears to the clouds
I took a few steps back.
It started to rain.
