Hidden Longing Poem by Sanjib Saha

Hidden Longing

Hidden Longing

In your heart's depths, conceal my notebook,
and walk away gently, searching
for the fragrance of love in every direction.

Hold tight the edge of your mother's sari,
while I swim against the tide,
seeking solace beneath my chest.
You beckon me with languid eyes.

How can I lose the scent of your skin,
the touch of your hair, the gentle caress?
With closed eyes, I feel this world
is kind and compassionate.

You depart with restless evenings,
darkness cannot touch you.
I stand still, clutching a handful of tears,
do you feel the touch of love?
