Hiding

Poem by Layla Norman

Don't let it show
don't imagine the pain
don't let him know
as your tears fall like rain

Just close your eyes
and lay down your head
stifle your cries
though your heart is now dead

Think back for awhile
to a different place
when he made you smile
and it made your heart race

Pretend it still does
act like you still do
do this because
someday it might be true
