Hiding From Ghost - Poem by Lynzi Berner

I can't take it
anymore
the noise
so loud
I cover my ears
as I run
for cover
eyes dart
wildly
back
and
forth
somewhere
anywhere
to hide
I rush in
stumble
fall
shut the door
I'm huddled
down
in the corner
tears running
eyes
shut
tight
it's dark
in here
I'm
shaking
so cold
my mind
is humming
a safe tune
to block
the noise
startled
I open
my eyes
wipe
away the tears
crawl
to the door
step out
there was never
anyone
here
but
ghosts
can sometimes
be
more real
than reality
