Him And Us Poem by vijay raghuraman

Him And Us

There is a holy place called Iraq,
Once ruled, by the forces of dark.
Their leader was Saddam Hussein,
Who brought his people nothing but pain.

Thousands were sent to the grave,
Young and the old, weak and the brave.
He built his rule by his people's bones,
His throne perched atop their tombs.

Yet one day, his regime did fall,
Captured he was, and thrown in jail.
He was judged by the rules of the land,
And was sentenced to be hanged.

His rule took thousands of lives,
In return, we took away his.
O civilized people, can you tell me this
How better, are our actions from his?
