Hinder No Child (1) Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Hinder No Child (1)

When throughout earth religion reigned
When truth was hard to seek
When still so much laid unexplained
Most failed with God to speak

Man still believed the devil’s lies
God’s word was less than rare
Latin, could read but noble eyes
Too selfish God to share

No chant could bring God’s guiding Light
However sweet the tune
Nor could religion win life’s fight
But only lead to ruin

A burden to the common man
A stumbling block to most
Failing to know Salvation’s plan
Without The Holy Ghost

Few serfs would venture far from town
Few shepherds’ man could guide
Ignorance truly wore her crown
And so in sin man died

Through ages dark and painful sore
Man played the devil’s fool
Till God on ignorance went to war
Breaking satanic rule

The humble man learned how to read
He saw the truth first hand
The bible spoke of Christ God’s Seed
So plain to understand

This freedom brought the realm of Christ
Tradition’s lost their place
It’s through The Lamb God sacrificed
We know Salvation’s grace…PTO…
