His Life Poem by Emily MacGregor

His Life

Slow down I say,
But he already lives day to day,
I plead I don't want you hurt,
He laughs, that's your way to tell me I'm burnt,
I beg him not to carry the world,
But he claims that it's his sword,
I scream it's going to kill you one day,
He just says that's the price I'm willing to pay,
Let me give you some love,
But he just gives me a shove,
I ask him why,
He hides it all and tells me a lie,
I ask him if it's true,
He thinks if only you knew,
I scream your not the same,
I am so he claims,
I know that he is sad,
But he only pretends that he's glad,
I try not to cry,
But he knows why.
