History is not just written by winners.
History, or rather modern history
Is written by those who lost
And not just lost, but lost big.
I remember me getting saddened
While reading the history of my country.
Although I memorized parts of my
History textbook and scored good in school,
But those scars that my country has endured
Historically, couldn't 'heal,
And just not that, more off
Couldn't heal my own scars.
Those were the beginning of my teenage years
And my own personal losses
Were getting piled up.
Today, at forty five
I still remember those heavy losses
That now I write about.
Although I made some gains by now
But needless to say....
I didn't like my gains and
Always whined about my losses.
Seems I liked my losses at the end.
History, or the history as we keep
Writing it now,
No matter how insignificant it might seem
Is surely written by losers.
