History's Roots Poem by B. Blackfish

History's Roots

History is a tree, with roots deep and wide,
Its branches stretching far and wide.
But if we don't connect with its past,
We risk losing its story at last.

Our roots are grounded in the past,
A connection that will forever last.
We honor those who came before,
And learn from the stories of yore.

The tales of our ancestors we cherish,
Their struggles and triumphs we relish.
From our own communities to the world at large,
We must protect our history, a valuable charge.

In every story, there's something to learn,
A chance to connect, a passion to burn.
For history's roots are ours to tend,
A precious legacy that we must defend.

So we should celebrate our shared past,
And keep its memories alive at last.
For history is a tree, with roots deep and wide,
A reminder of the journey that connects us inside.
