Hockey Hampster Poem by Russell Skiba

Hockey Hampster

Rating: 4.5

I placed him in my pocket
as we took off for the rink.
Small, Brown and Furry
I wonder what he'll think.

He's wearing a small jersey
and his hockey helmet for luck.
He is so very excited
and hopes to catch a puck.

Security didn't notice
even though a women screamed.
My small little hockey fan
was about to live his dream.

In the arena, we got great seats
near center ice, man what a treat.
My hamster in my shirt pocket
Boy was this neat.

Then the puck was dropped
and the game began.
my little hamster
their number one fan.

He cheered when they scored
and boo'ed when they did bad.
But we won 6 to 2
and man, was he glad.

On the way home
he begged to go again.
Any thing you want...
My little hockey friend.
