Holding On, Letting Go Poem by Ryan Lee Morris

Holding On, Letting Go

Hold on to that of our choosing.
It's our choice what we let go.
There are those that will try to judge us.
But it is only God who truly knows.

It is from Him, we were created.
Only He will fully see.
The inner most of our being.
And who it is, we choose to be.

He sees right past our actions.
He knows the lessons we are to learn.
For those who wish to judge us,
"His" respect we seek to earn.

You can continue upon your path.
I hope you find your peace.
For the gifts of life that define you,
Are based on what you choose to release.

It is not my place to judge you,
In the moment I can only see,
I can only trust the path you walk,
Will make you the best you choose to be.

When we meet again on the other side,
It is only then we'll know.
What in this life we were to hold on to,
And what we should have let go.

Our journeys thus far, that is called our lives,
Through it I hope you'll find true sight.
Let go of the things that weigh you down.
So you can see and become the light.

Anger, resentment and bitterness,
They will cut you like a knife.
It is all these things, you must let go,
If you are to hold on to true life.
