Holiday Gathering Poem by William Graham

Holiday Gathering

Rating: 3.0

Please pass me a sharp knife
So I can end this holiday conversation
With a surgical slice to my wrist.

Too short is my precious life
To endure this familial congregation
Where the same subjects persist

Year after year—causing strife
And persistent agitation.
Next year I will not be in their midst.
