Hollow Poem by atticus denny

Hollow

I emptied my soul out so I could fill the void with yours
And I thought about you when I brushed my teeth,
I thought about you when I looked at the muddy shoes I used to sneak over your fence in the rain
I thought about you when I drove home from work,
I saw the slow transition from lust to love to lust and to fantasy and to hate.
The balance of functional life while I fed my love for you was nonexistent
The way you said you loved me every morning saw a transition from love to lust to fantasy and to indifference.
I thought about you when I wrote this today.
