Home Poem by Lilibeth Apat

Home

It’s not enough that a house is built
Where persons simply dwell,
There are lots of things a house should have
So that a home it can be referred.

Home is where babies are born, cared, and reared;
Where carefree laughter fill the halls, with the passing of years;
It is where little children are nurtured and disciplined,
For them to be good women and men someday.

Home is where you leave so much of yourself behind,
That even fame and fortune gained outside can’t deny,
Home is where you’d ache to come back to - and you must!
It’s where your heart always stays, though you wander long and far.

Home is where your loved ones await you
As they watch the days go by;
It’s where laughter and tears are shared;
Where true love on earth is unsurpassed.
