Home's Best Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Home's Best

Just, a family summer-outing-
From city-habitat to my native village
A great time and fun-
We're no exception to selfies in vogue
So as to catch the climate thereof.

Selfies, covering scenes of native-villages
Adjacent to Sutlej-Lake of Govind Sagar-
The Bhakara Dam behind the background.

Visible waters from the top of both hillocks
Of Solahsinghi and Ramgarh hill-ranges
Ranges of the great Hill Himalayas.

Down, at ferry point, where lake is shrunk
Shrunk into the lowest of its water-level
And local fishermen at their work resting
Off, for a month of fish-breeding-season
Having stationed, fishing boats in waters.

Fascinating scenes of clouds overcast behind
Eye-catching greenery appearing all around
Under the drizzling dark-cloudy sky-
Where, people are caught while at selfies.

I'm being the native here re-collect:
Great poet, Oliver Goldsmith (1730-1774)
The best poem: ‘East, West, Home's Best.'
