Honey Or Poison? Poem by Mariana Eftimie Kabbout

Honey Or Poison?

Your words... only a poison with the taste of honey.
My soul... the thing you’ll never buy with diamonds, gold or money.
Your selfishness has killed so fast my naive love for you
By shaking suddenly my heart and cutting it in two...

The second time... incredible trance! Why did I was so blind?
The happiness... an useless dream which blocked all my mind...
When will I teach to not dream more? The love is just a joke!
Forgive me, God! What shall I ask you, to put in my cheast? a rock...?

Now, when I write all these words, you can not see my eyes...
The rebel tears flow... and flow... Why should I pay this price?
But who can answer me today? And what I wait more?
There’s no answer... only my shadow... on the sadness shore...

I’ll forgive myself again as I’ll forgive you too...
It’s not your fault if I was born, my crazy... to love you...
