Honor Of Silence Poem by J.C. Masa

Honor Of Silence

How can I lower the volume of my soul,
when the heart is too loud and out of control?
Still, I will honor the silence, even though
the intensity has taken its toll.

I am navigating a tug-of-war
between peace and persistence.
If that is what it takes, then the heart must depart
to protect the peace of the present.

I can be part of your world without breaking it.
The sanctuary I've built is ready when you need it.
Still I pray for better days, that you never lose your grace,
And time finds a way to leave a smile upon your face.
