Hope - Poem by jonathan fields

By: Jonathan Fields

The thing everyone wants
The things everyone envy's
If you have it
Keep it close and never let it go
If you don't
Hope you can find it before it's too late
When will it be too late
That's up to you to decide
For me I was on the edge
Ready to fall over the cliff
Never to return
Some already fell over
My own family
It never ends
The despair
The pain
The feeling of being lost
If only there was a cure for it
That would give people something to live for
To stand up and look at the day as a good day
But that will never happen
Not in a thousand years
No matter what technology we have
It will never go away
Not till we die at least
But death doesn't always come soon
Not till your happy
Not till you have something to live for
Not till you have a lot to lose
Not till you have people that will miss you
That's all we want
Don't we
I know I do
