Hope And Purpose And Reason - Poem by Lukie Pieterse

In the twilight of my desire
At the dawn of my hope
You came and rekindled loving memories from long ago
And you gave me hope again
Hope and purpose and reason to face another day

In the twilight of my loneliness
At the dawn of my desperation
You came and hold my hand
And you gave me kinship again
Hope and purpose and reason to face another day

In the twilight of my age
At the dawn of my manhood
You came and helped me to stand tall
And you gave me courage beyond my own making
Hope and purpose and reason to face another day

In the twilight of my love
At the dawn of my caring
You came and offered your soul
And you gave me more than I deserve
Hope and purpose and reason to face another day

For this and more
I love you with all my heart
And always will
Because you gave me hope and purpose and reason to embrace love
A tender and true Love for you...

I thank you
And love you...
