Hope By Czesław Miłosz

Hope happens, If one believes
The earth is not a dream, but living flesh,
and sight, touch and hearing do not lie,
That everything, I here experienced,
Are alike a garden, when you are standing at the gate.

Thre is no entry. But it is for sure.
If we looked better and wiser,
Still a new flower and another star
In the world's garden, we would see.

Some say, our eye deludes us,
That there isn't anything, it only appears to,
But these just have no hope.
Who think, when a person turns around,
The whole world behind them immediately ceases to be,
As if it had been snatched away by the hands of thieves.
