ask me no questions
I'll tell you no lies
tell me no stories
no need for replies
about peace and demise
of death and reprisals
of hopes and unhappy
promises and agreements undone
tell of victories
that were never won
ma come and see
what they have done to us
pa they filled us
full of hate and revenge
now we are drunk
with anger and fear
the peace we sought
was never so near
ask me again
and I'll tell you what's dear
the air we breathe
the water we drink
the music we hear
the sun-up we see
why isn't there enough
for all of us to share,
they tell us the stories
do unto others
as you would to yourself
was it always a myth
sour and sorrow
or has it become
do it to others
before they do it to you
ask me no questions
I'll tello you no lies
of wherefore and whys
