Hour Glass Poem by Kay Francis

Hour Glass

Rating: 5.0

The sand of your spent day
trickles through
the thin chambers of time
and lies waiting for me
to use again and again
within the hour glass of our love.

My moon bows to your sun.
My sunset parallels your sunrise.
You sample each day first, tilt,
then bequeath your sands
to me as worthy to live.

We are two pure crystal vessels
forged together by heat
of the same, white-hot flame;
a perfectly matched creation
delicately connected forever.

Each particle of our souls,
every granule of our combined selves
blend to make us what we are,
transparent melted sand,
never to be separated or scattered
by uncertain winds,
for we are held together
by strong, intricately carved timbers
forever protected within
the hour glass of our love.
