How Can I? Poem by Michael P. Johnson

How Can I?

How can I serve the God I love?
Yet hide the light from high above
The world yet blind must know as well
Heaven is true, but so is hell

How can I lead you to believe?
The devil comes but to deceive
Yet God whose grace in truth is found
Can free each child the devil’s bound

How can I bring you to understand?
There’s none too rich, none too grand
We all may come and be received
By Jesus Christ, who all have grieved

How can I give what’s most profound?
The secret things in Jesus found
God’s truth is mine; I’ve found The Way
How can I share God’s Light today?

How can I show God’s righteous Way?
Potter is Christ! I am but clay
The Lord makes pots, His will to do
A pot like me a pot like you

How can I make you realize?
I know a place where no one dies
The road of truth is not too wide
To find the way, you’ll need a guide

How can I lead you to the Guide?
The Gift of God who dwells inside
He’s now my guest! I’m Jesus host
Spirit and Fire, God’s Holy Ghost

How can I give God’s Holy Flame?
The One who rids our wayward shame
He’s like the wind that bows so free
Just whisper “Jesus, come to me”
