How can you love me, when I am but a mere mortal?
A flawed being, with scars that are quite mortal,
A broken soul that longs for light,
A heart that's been shattered without any respite.
How can you love me, with all my imperfections?
With my flaws and quirks, and all my complications,
A will that's weak, and a heart that's scared,
And a mind that's filled with thoughts that aren't quite fair.
How can you love me, when the world says I'm unworthy?
A soul that's lost, and a heart that's dirty,
A spirit that's shattered, and a mind that's torn,
And dreams that seem to be brutally born.
How can you love me, when I can't love myself?
With a heart that's broken into immense wealth,
And a spirit that's haunted by demons of the past,
With a heart that's heavy and a future that's vast.
But still, you love me with a love that's pure,
A love that's unwavering, steadfast, and sure,
A love that sees past all my imperfections,
And embraces me with all my complexities and affections.
How can you love me? I ask with disbelief,
And yet, you love me with a love that brings relief,
A love that washes away the stains of my past,
A love that lets me see life with a different cast.
And so I stand before you, with my broken heart and soul,
And let your love embrace me and make me whole,
For in your love, I find my worth and salvation,
And realize the depth of your love and adoration.
