How Close Is Too Close? Poem by Ruhani Choudhary

How Close Is Too Close?

How close is too close?
What's this unsettling force?

Although surrounded, I feel so alone,
As though I must sit on a different throne.

Everyone's loud while I sit still,
Yet my heart burns with the zeal to fulfill.

There's laughter and chatter all around,
Yet the company I crave is nowhere found.

There goes my heart to its dream place,
Not a single doubt left to trace.

Like a diamond, I have to shine;
For the polishing, I trust time.

My destination lies within sight,
And I'm preparing for my flight.

Just trust me—I'll be fine.
