How Do I Say Goodbye Poem by William Calvert

How Do I Say Goodbye

I see you always in  my mind
Nights are filled with dreams of you
My soul longs to be next to yours
To wrap you in my arms
And hold your body next to mine

How can I let you go
How do I say goodbye

My heart jumps to hear your voice
My eyes cry to see your face
To feel of your gentle touch
The  scent of your hair
And the softness of your skin

How can I let you go
How do I say goodbye

Your soothing gentle words
Having you lay next to me
Listening to you breathe
The softness of your kiss
Holding your hand in mine

How do I let you go
How can I say goodbye

The holiness  of two being one
Sounds of your laughter
Seeing the child in your eyes
The quiet contentment between us
The warmth of your smile

How can I let you go
How do I say goodbye

The times we laughed
The times we cried
The times of pleasure
 And the times of pain
The times of passion and love

How can I let you go
How do I say goodbye

Can I really just say goodbye
