How I Miss You Poem by Benjamin Hallas

How I Miss You

Your hair is
made of fine gold
Your eyes
are gems
set into your eye sockets
like a diamond
set into a ring
Your smile is
like fine pearls
in a necklace
and your skin
is as soft
as cotton

Now you are gone
like a balloon
caught in the wind
It is as if
You are on a
long journey
never to be seen again
I miss you
I miss your
laugh and smile
which brought
joy to my heart
But most of all
I miss your presence

I do not know
if our paths will
cross again
like two strangers
meeting again
for the first time
But I will pray
for the best
as a member of a religion
prays for
the safe return of a loved one
I care about you
maybe even more
than a friend
I feel as if
I have lost my chance
I often think about
what could have been
Maybe someday
but in the mean time
I long for you
and your return
