How Is Received - Poem by Michael P. Johnson

How is received of Heaven’s breathe?
Eternal Light and grace
How does one flee from hell and death
And see The Father’s face

Surely The Lord God’s made a way
Foreseeing the plight of man
Knowing we’d seek His face one day
He thus devised a plan

To join in Heaven His elect
To stand Him ever true
Our lives to change our ways correct
And His alone pursue

But Satan wants to keep us blind
To lie to cheat and kill
To steal the soul to twist the mind
And rob us of God’s will

Yet wisdom serves God’s servants well
Through knowledge we’ve a tool
Keeping both safe and sound from hell
And from the devil’s rule

Knowing our God His Lamb and Son
His Truth and guiding Light
Our total victory’s surely won
When in Christ’s name we fight

Thus can we free ourselves of sin
A shameful heart make pure
Receive The Holy Ghost within
And death’s most certain cure

Who’ll seek! Will find at Jesus’ feet
Salvation through and through
Will find by grace as God’s elite
That life begins anew
