How Much You Truly Mean To Me Poem by Allison Herndon

How Much You Truly Mean To Me

They make fun of you and push you to you limit
But they can't see all the work you put in it
Your life is yours for the taking
But because of them you go to bed crying and shaking
They call you a man Wh*re, F*g, and Cutter
They don't realize you hear those words from your own mother
They can't see the pain in your eyes
That makes you want to take your own life
Anyone can see the cuts on your wrist
Quit frankly they're hard to miss
They only see the you, you put up outside
But the true you runs scared and tries to hide
You're in a great big world but you feel all alone
Like you're lost and cold and have no home
But i'm here for you and I love you
Can't you see in my eyes what I say is true?
I'll stand by you if you stand by me
You're a lock and i'm your key
Unlocking you're secrets from your past
And helping you with them no matter how vast
I love you and maybe someday you'll see
How much you truly mean to me.
