How To Best Look At The World Poem by Raymond Farrell

How To Best Look At The World

And to you my friend
Who wish to know
How we can best look at the world
And see it the way it is
I say without hesitation
Retain sufficient of the child in you
To put aside bigotry and prejudice
And other impure qualities
That prevents honest judgment
Then ponder with a fervent desire
The world as it is
Not as you wish it was
Or hope it becomes
Or fear it is about to become
See it as it is
For there is sufficient of all extremes
And dimensions of everything
As it is that we need not
Succumb to imagining or exaggeration
When investigating what is
To be overwhelmed by reality
As it is.
