How Will I Be Seen? Poem by Mark. A Heathcote

How Will I Be Seen?

When you remove these shadows
How will I be seen?
How will I be perceived?
For even transparent petals
Of -light cast a little shadow.
A little shade where others might one day follow.
Surely there is some lingering residue.
Something of the person I've become.
An atom, a molecule,
Something which helps fool my head and heart.
I still exist in some parallel universe.
Look, can I be counterfeit and be more my true self?
Can I be the darkness all around me?
Plucked off the shelf.
The fabric between the stars
That lets the star's light shine and vibrate.
If there is truly nothing else.
Forget watching this space.
Where only shadows spin out of my eyes and face.
Like a hollow moon eclipsed, wrung out by the sun.
Seeing only what matters, not the core of the sum.
