Human Intelligence, our Final Path Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Human Intelligence, our Final Path

The world we know, a fragile thing,
A whisper carried on the wing.
We hold the power, strong and deep,
To make the whole wide planet sleep.

A final flicker, then the night,
Extinguish every spark of light.
The animals, the trees so tall,
The gentle hum that touches all.

When will it come, this silent close?
No star can tell, no river knows.
But in our hands, the trigger lies,
Reflected in uncertain skies.

It's not a 'if, ' but just a 'when, '
This final end for living men.
A shadow cast, a turning tide,
Where all of life can no more hide.
