Humiliation Poem by Anisha Nyambe

Humiliation

There I was on the largest stage
I stood there out of breath, full of age
Everyone was laughing for whatever their reason
It was my big moment, so I had to move on

I stood on the stage rather shocked or dumbstruck
Still, I was, as they all laughed at me
A step forward, I took, when I heard lightning strike
I prayed silently to set me free from humiliation
