Huncho Poem by Emmanuel jachimike Ezendu

Huncho

While I breathe I hope
While the clock ticks, I hope
While the birds sing, I hope
What is good for Greece is also good for Uganda,
Just because I carry it so well doesn't mean it's not heavy
It is,
I'm blessed I know,
And I am not stopping here
A pause I need
Maybe a resting place along the river side
Where I can bleed my thoughts in black and white
Many a time my poems I write
Sometimes lessons of life
My growth, my trial, my Error
They all bleed through my ink.
While they bleed I hope
While I tour in thought I hope
I truly hope that one-day
I'll be out of the River with fishes
Not just wet legs.
