Hunger Poem by Raymond Farrell

Hunger

Rating: 5.0

Poverty
my middle name
skin clinging
to brittle bones
bloated bellies
tortured with emptiness
eyes staring
from pale gaunt faces
eternity
just seconds away
the world
unmoved
while life
ebbs
from broken bodies
innocence
buys no mercy
youth
brings no reprieve
from the carnage.
