Hunger Poem by Jimmy L. Lyons

Hunger

Rating: 4.0

I'm not hungry for food; I'm hungry for the Word.
I don't want to miss out; my plea has got to be heard.
I pray to God: don't leave me out in the cold;
satisfy my hunger, bring me back into the fold.

I am hungry for Christ; I know how much he sacrificed;
I want my chance for glory, for salvation to be my story.
I've been stressed for too long; I want heavenly choirs singing my song.
Please God, give me no more tears; take away all my fears.

I want the sun to come out; I want to run and shout.
I'm hungry for a life with Christ; I'm willing to pay the price.
I'm tired of moving so slowly; it's time for me to be holy.
No more being stressed; I want to let go, let God, and be blessed.

How true this is amidst the chaotic world that we live in.
