The rabbit in his burrow
Lives but little, safe and sound
His brow, deeply furrowed
Yet he's guarded from the hound
Feels the warming of the earth
As the rays of light pour down
Belly aches, damnable dearth
Could some courage just be found!
Desperate to find his time
To make a break for it, run
He knows the dream is folly
For one can't outrun the gun
