Hunter Poem by Srivinay Salian

Hunter

Sweet little hunter
With tiny webbed feet
Stands the surface
Eyeing its prey beneath

Heart and breath
Both quite and still
Smoothly it floats
Waiting for the kill

As oblivious prey
Comes too close
Piercing the ocean
Hungry beak goes

Pulled out of life
Prey goes dead
One gets killed
Another gets fed
