Oh empower me
Rain down on me
It only leads to self discovery

My strength will increase
I'll cure your disease
Oh empower me with your pain

And inspire me
Show me what not to be
Teach me there's a better way

Bring me down
And walk away
I'll stand up and sing your praise

Devour my spirit
I'll appreciate the shame
I'll grow humble and unafraid

Skin me raw
Leave me there to hang
I'll understand humility

Give me your love
And take it away
I'll learn to love you anyway

I will see the sun through clouds of grey
Hold me back
And let me go

I'll be the most thankful person
That you could ever know
Remind me who I am

And what I've come from
The little things you don't know
The times I've overcome

Pretend you know me
Pretend you're better than me
So I can feel sorry for you
