Hurting On The Inside Poem by Brian Streb

Hurting On The Inside

I smile on the outside
But on the inside it hurts
Si I hold my breath
Till my lungs almost burst

My heart is in pieces
Spread out on the floor
It has been like this
since you went out the door

So I swept up the pieces
And put them in a bag
So when we are together again
You can glue them all back

I wish you would hurry
And finally see
You and I together
Is how its meant to be

I know you love me
And want us together
But your still with him
I can't wait forever

But I will still save these pieces
And wait for the day
When you leave him
And come back my way
