Hurts Poem by rebecca leonard

Hurts

Rating: 5.0

I lay awake at night
Thinking will she be all right?
I heard him yell
My sister looks at me with my ears ringing like a bell

I lay awake crying,
I feel like she's dying
I run out and see my mother.
Then he starts to head for another.

I sprint past him
He pulls on my arm limb
I push him away
I am over him for today
I refuse to let him hurt me

I fall to the ground
Then he looks around
He stumbles out the door
Then I look at my arms.. there so sore.

My sister walks in and looks at me
I feel like she's gonna yell
I shed a tear and she whispers
'You do belong don't let him tell you otherwise.
