Hypnotist Poem by Nicole Lee

Hypnotist

I went to see a hypnotist today
I wanted to see his power

I went to see a hypnotist today
He made me believe I was a flower

He took his watch
And waved it in front of my face

Then he chanted something
And I fell out of grace

He took out a spiral
And chanted something more

Just looking at it made me dizzy
And I collapsed on the floor

Suddenly I woke to a 'snap'
I looked down at my hands

They weren't hands at all
But they were green leaves

I found a mirror and stared at my face
But my face had turned to a rose

My sides were covered in thorns
But they were pointing out

And in that instant
I felt true beauty

That what was inside finally showed out
And I knew without a doubt

What this man taught me
I shall never forget
